An alcoholic may not return with safety to the use of alcohol in any form, according to a position statement regarding abstinence released today by the Board of Directors of the National Council on Alcoholism. "There have been claims that alcoholics can drink again," Thomas G. Terbell, NCA board chairman, said. "We view these as misleading and dangerous."
