Announcement has been made of a series of annual Health Education Institutes under the sponsorship of the School of Education of New York University. The first of these Institutes will be held from August 16 to September 3. Professor Morey R. Fields, Institute co-ordinator said, "The recognition by New York University of the importance of the problems of alcohol is another of the many undertakings evidenced in recent years that the solution of the problem of 4,000,000 neglected people in the United States and many more millions of their friends, family and associates can be achieved only through adequate undertaking of their problems." This Institute, one of the first of its kind to be established in a school of education and a large university, is the first major recognition of education's responsibility towards a more complete understanding of the problems of alcohol. Under the Department of Physical Education and Health, School of Education, in co-operation with the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Research Council on Problems of Alcohol and other national agencies, the Institute will be staffed by many authorities in the field.
