Mail Call for All A.A.s at Home Or Abroad
Why is it that the dominating alcoholic tendency toward procrastination seems to remain with many of us long after we have started making an attempt toward the new way of life? We have in mind right now the guy or gal who is contacted by mail to lead a meeting in another town. The secretary sends the invitation, encloses a stamped addressed postal card for reply. No reply is forthcoming, even to a telegram when the time is getting short. So the secretary, in desperation, contacts someone else. After rearranging his schedule to fit our needs, the substitute shows up only to find that the person originally contacted is there, blithely explaining to the secretary that he "just couldn't get around to answering." For the briefest moment our old inclination is to answer, "Nuts."
