"A COUPLE of anonymous alcoholics were listening near Fourth-and-Market to the songs of marchers in the Labor Day Parade. Said No. 1: 'Can't unnerstand why thesh fellows keep singing 'Unions makes us wrong'.' No. 2: 'The words ish 'Union makes us strong.' No. 1: "Nope; you lishen and see.' No. 2 (after solemn pause) 'By golly, you're right. Either they're singing 'Unions makes us wrong' or my ears have turned Republican'."
