IF there is one question that is asked of every alcoholic, it is this one: "What are you running away from?" One man gave his own classic answer to that question. He was Francis Thompson, the English poet who died in 1907. He put his answer into the soaring, overpowering lines of what has been called the greatest ode in the language, "The Hound of Heaven."
