Mail Call for A.A.s at Home and Abroad

IT was as if I found myself trapped in a terrifyingly dark room. At first my groping revealed no exits, but as my eyes became accustomed to the darkness, I made out three doors. On each door was a large sign. This read "Death." Under each of these was a smaller sign, the first reading "Suicide," the second, "Acute Alcoholism," and the third "Mental Disintegration." As they were all unlocked, I tried each one but in turn peered in and in horror retreated into the blackness of self-pity and self-loathing. And then, I perceived that there was yet another way out.
