Some Begin Sooner Than Others

THERE are many alcoholics who find their way into A.A. and begin working on a program of recovery right from the start. They feel that others are interested in them. They become open-minded and have a feeling of "belonging." They meet men and women who, like themselves, once tried to detour through life in alcoholic darkness, men and women who are now using the 12 Steps as a road map to guide them on the road to sobriety. These new members soon learn to forget about themselves by trying to help others. By adopting the slogan, "Easy Does It," they gradually restore their minds and bodies to normal health.
