I Did Not Come into A.A.--Willingly--

I DID not come to A.A. willingly. I did not come to stop drinking. I did want help because I needed it desperately, but had no confidence that I could receive it here. I knew that A.A. was too ridiculous to be of any good to me but I came to see what it was about and to prove to my dear wife and one or two good friends, who had stuck with me through those terrible drunken years, that it wouldn't and just couldn't work.
