Mail Call

JUST read the new A.A. Grapevine and the article about "This Could Be Your Group" interested me very much. Some of us fairly exude a personality that invites others to talk to us. Personally, I make up to people and like to draw them out. The harder it is to know them the more I try and many times I find out that this very dignified distant person is aching to talk to someone but just doesn't know how to do so. Yes, I find that in order to have friends I too have to go more than 50 per cent but it's worth it. The other person is perhaps timid and sometimes is at a loss as to what to say. After all, when we were drinking it only took a flick of an eyelash for us to be at the other table. When drinking we found plenty to say and now because we are able to remember what we read, what we do, and can see everything about us it provides me with plenty to say. Quite a change from the introvert I used to be sober and the opposite when drinking.
