BROTHER H.S., you're SO right! I, too, was a visitor to metropolitan New York AA groups. I, too, was disillusioned by the brand of "inhospitality" served at the "Fountainhead of AA." The indifference and unconcern for the stranger, amplified by just plain bad manners, chilled me. I actually felt like a suspicious character who was trying to chisel in on a smug private party. All I wanted was--just like you--to have some guy, anyone, stroll up and say, "Hi, Bud, you a stranger here?"
