FOR 27 years I beat my brain to a warp against the fact that I couldn't face life without a lift and lived in a world of make-believe all of my own. What goes up must come down, and I came down at last with a big thud here in prison. It took all those years, prison sentence, and AA to bring me down from that high, horrible dream.
