Considerable stress is laid on self-honesty in the belief that to be honest with others a person must first be honest with himself. Alcoholics like to believe that what a man is today is more important than what he was yesterday. To me, the AA philosophy is: Yesterday is a cancelled check: Tomorrow is a promissory note, but today is cash: Spend it wisely.
