Mail Call

LOTS of people ask about slips in AA. I usually tell them that one of the most natural things for a member to do after he has been in AA about six months is to flirt with the idea that after all he may not be an alcoholic. Rather than go through life thinking that perhaps he is regimenting it uselessly, it is better for him to go ahead and get drunk to prove once and for all that he is an alcoholic. Under these conditions I never blame him and am perfectly willing to help in every way possible, but if he continues to slip, my inclination is to let him come back on his own power without any wet nursing.
