IT was a relief to know that the first thing I had to do was "give up." For what? Why, to win! You "give up the ghost" of the old alcoholic past simply by admitting you can't drink any more like most social drinkers. You give up in order to win sobriety. And that's quite a jack pot. It's the rod by which we regain ourselves so that we may again produce, progress, and live in peace.
