Tradition Week

Meeting Suggestions from some who observed Tradition Week last year

We observed Tradition Week by holding an open meeting. About 125 were present, including interested laymen, doctors, members of the clergy and the clerk of the local police court. We had a short talk on basic fundamental AA which led into a brief history of AA and the need for crystallizing our group experiences in the 12 Points of Tradition. Four members had been requested to be prepared to speak on their personal experiences and to comment briefly on our Traditions more concerned with our public relations. Although it is difficult to accurately measure public reaction, we in the group feel that this meeting was very much worthwhile and the good resulting from carrying the message to other alcoholics will be evidenced for several years to come. Shortly after our Tradition observance, four new contacts were directly traceable to the meeting.
