The World's Youngest

WE believe that we have in our group one of the world's youngest Twelfth-Steppers in William Blank, aged four. William obviously heard Dr. Blank, his father, talk a great deal around the house to Mrs. Blank about the AA Club, of which the doctor had been a member for several months. William was much impressed when he accompanied his father on a visit to the clubroom one holiday afternoon. The next day at kindergarten school, according to the teacher, William was full of talk about his father's AA clubroom downtown, and of course destroyed his father's anonymity right and left. One little fellow went home and asked his own father if he belonged to the AA Club, and when told distinctly "No" the little fellow replied, "Well, why not? William Blank's father does!" But William's breach of the principle of anonymity in this instance paid off. Two weeks later the group welcomed a new member: in walked the husband of the kindergarten school teacher!
