Camp Action

some four hundred souls

WE at Camp Acton, California, are some 400 souls; amputees, aged, sub-normal, incapacitated, and some 30% alcoholics. Unable to support ourselves, we appealed to the Los Angeles County Bureau of Public Assistance and were put in this camp. The site is a pleasant one in a valley; food, housing, clothing, work, entertainment, medical attention are adequate and life is not too bad if. . .But that is not the story here.
