Pre-AA Inventory!

A drunk who worked (temporarily) for an auctioneer was sent to a large mansion to list the articles therein in preparation for a sale. For a while the inventory progressed well enough, item by item was duly recorded. Furniture, pictures, curios, etc. Then, this item appeared on the list, "One quart Bourbon whisky, full." The work went on and then, this appeared, "One quart whisky, part full." And finally, "One whisky bottle empty." The next item then read: Two Revolving Turkish Rugs!"
