IN a conversation recently with one of the women members of AA who is called upon to do a lot of speaking at various metropolitan and suburban groups, a protest was voiced at the buildup that the male leader of a meeting is apt to give a female speaker. This lady's objection seems to be well founded. Since most of the men accept the women in AA on an absolutely equal basis as to their need for the Program and their right to belong to the fellowship, why should we men characterize them as especially noble characters in admitting their problem to the group, or to the world at large for that matter. It would appear that in so doing we only cause the girls unnecessary embarrassment.
