Mail Call

I HADN'T had a drink for nine days when I attended my first AA meeting, yet I was nervous just the same--I didn't know what to expect! But when I was drinking I had something to look ahead for 'those awful hangovers.' As I looked around me in the room I saw familiar faces, but they were sober and contented looking. I was really amazed at the change. I knew then that whatever AA had to offer I wanted it desperately. I listened to the speakers and was surprised to hear them tell about themselves; without a drink in them too.
