A picture postcard of a beach from Joe, a one year AA. Joe writes, "First real vacation my family has had in ten years. First sober one in twenty. AA, it's wonderful!" So it is. But back home the group is just now going through its own kind of AA 'absenteeism.' Meeting attendance is skimpy. . . programs are given the once-over-lightly treatment. Which brings up this thought for July. . . Death may take a holiday. . . but alcoholism doesn't!
