From the Grass Roots

THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO LEARN

SPEAKERS in open meetings are of all types and kinds, ranging all the way from bad to good, from short to too long, from the stumbling and perhaps somewhat incoherent chap who is humbly trying in his own way to tell his story, to the individual with the silver tongue using two-bit words that flow without any apparent effort, all trying to say something to help either themselves or their listeners. Sometime ago, one of those stumbling, stuttering chaps made the usual remark that his thoughts were his own and if he could help someone he would be happy; but on the other hand if there was nothing worth remembering in his talk, the audience would do well to listen for they could, at least learn something about tolerance; therein hangs the tale. Most of the audience forgot about the man, his tale and everything else that went with him.
