Alcohol in Bond

FOR five years before I joined AA, I had been trying to stop drinking without success. It seems to me that my decisions were just as firm and strong when I decided to stop as they possible could be, but I always either changed my mind or failed. But when I came into AA "some intangible something" gave me the extra push, or courage, or determination, that I had lacked before to stay dry. I don't know what it was--it may have been the case histories I heard; it may have been a sense of belonging; it may have been that I did ask God for help; it may have been the friendships and associations of the group--whatever it was, some intangible something changed me.
