EVALUATING OUR SOBRIETY QUALITY-WISE AS WELL AS QUANTITY-WISE ON THE 24-HOUR PLAN

SOBRIETY is like a jewel, the value of which is determined not merely by measures of quantity but also by tests of quality. The largest diamond is not necessarily the most valuable. Color, brilliance, cut, and freedom from flaw, must be evaluated as well as sheer size. Four of these five factors have to do with quality and they are more controlling in the determination of value than is size or weight which is a quantitative consideration.
