The Alibi

I SUPPOSE everyone of us, after he has associated with AA long enough to begin to see the trees instead of the forest, gradually becomes aware of certain aspects of the program that helped boost and maintain his sobriety. I believe in my own case a thorough understanding of what we commonly term "alcoholic thinking" has given me the ability (or, perhaps, honest reasoning to label it more properly) to see through the foibles and pitfalls of thoughts and behavior that lead to that fatal first drink.
