Faith for Fear

MY wife noticed a change in my drinking a year or two before I became aware that it was a problem. She said, "You don't drink like you used to and drink a lot more. Aren't you afraid it will become a habit?" "I don't have any habits," I said, "except natural ones. Why, I don't even use tobacco. Didn't I voluntarily go on a diet and take off 26 pounds? A guy who can almost quit eating can quit drinking if he wants to. I have will power. If drinking ever becomes a habit with me, I'll just quit."
