I HAVE had 935 consecutive 24 hour periods of sobriety. I attended my first meeting the 15th of December, 1949 and knew from the very first that it was for me if I would just be honest about myself. At first there were a good many times of temptation but I always tried to remember that I am an alcoholic and could not drink and it seemed as though the temptation would leave as quickly as it came.
