From the Grass Roots

IS THERE SUCH A THING AS "GROUP RESPONSIBILITY"?

The writer of "AA At Work--Or At Leisure?" published in the July Grapevine is, whether he knows it or not, still resentful because he did not get the "red carpet" treatment in a strange city. He rationalizes by implying that if the so-called careless member of AA had come charging to his aid, that would have saved the situation. But how often under somewhat similar circumstances has aid been offered without tangible results! This is particularly true in large metropolitan areas where one of the toughest situations handled by the Inter group or Central Office is to answer calls from hotels when visiting brothers (and sisters) have forgotten the First Step.
