From the Grass Roots

I DO not subscribe to The Grapevine anymore because I am tired of reading all about the case histories of the boys and girls who have "arrived." I personally never have "arrived" yet, though I have given much time and study to the "philosophy" in the AA program. I've had the Big Book, the Red Book, all the pamphlets, and now have the new book, Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions. I have evolved much that is a comfort from all this but have never yet "arrived" after about four years. What's more, I've slipped to the old way recently. The struggle to see through the case history and solutions of the more fortunate ones who have "arrived" is of little comfort and help to me.
