What has AA meant to me? First, AA helped me at once to stop drinking. One thing that made it easier for me was the fact that I was searching frantically for any help in stopping, thus meeting chaps who were in exactly the same position as myself and who showed understanding and friendliness such as I hadn't known and which I had come to believe did not exist.
