A Parolee Reports

I JOINED an AA group in Seattle and as a member I have found friendship and understanding among alcoholics and non-alcoholics in this city that I had never known before. Believe it or not, I was invited to not one home, but several, for Christmas dinner. Since 1934, this is the first Christmas that I will sit at a table with a family and little children around me. I just can't put on paper what I mean and feel. All my Christmases for years and years have been lonely ones spent in the pen or some county jail from coast to coast.
