DOCTORS have, for generations, done their best to help problem drinkers. AA meetings have echoed with their frustrations and the problem drinkers' resentment at the doctor's lack of understanding. No one can help so much to create in the medical profession the kind of understanding needed to bring the problem drinker to AA earlier and to keep him there, as an AA member.
