It's a Selfish Program

THAT'S what you guys keep tellin' us--at beginner's meetings, closed meetings, regular meetings, and over the coffee cups. Well, I've listened and, now, I'm soundin' off. As a newcomer, I soon learned to listen with an open mind, remain silent, and consult the Book for verification. I remained silent because I soon found that any statement I might make would be taken as an appeal for advice on how to stay sober. I got a bit weary of having you so-called old-timers assuming that every time I get a flea bite, a flat tire, a pain in the neck, or an unexpected guest for dinner I'll get drunk.
