We're All in This Together

More is accomplished by talking things out because. . .

USUALLY we erroneously think of AA as belonging to only the member of the family who is ill. This fallacy if nurtured may grow into a far greater incompatibility than the one experienced during the worst stages of the alcoholic malady. No one can deny the frustration, bewilderment and hurt that the members of the family feel as they become aware that the bottle is a growing wedge which is driving their loved one from them. Even this estrangement is sometimes relieved by short periods of sobriety. Things assume more normal proportions during these times and we again have something in common.
