Another Twenty-four Hours

"One summer at the Abbey of Our Lady of New Mellaray a Trappist was showing me around the raw foundations of a new guest-house. He explained that the monks were doing all the work themselves and he described, what the house should be when it was finished. I said, 'That's an enormous job you've got ahead of you.' And he said, 'Oh no, just a day's work. That's all we do every day, just a day's work.'" (The Sign of Jonas, by Thomas Merton)
