Transfer, Please!

IT had been a really serene morning and lunch with Les, our secretary, had given me a feeling of contented smugness. In the bus I settled down to return to office, when I recognized a series of familiar greetings from the firm's secretary, sales manager, accountant and production chief, who occupied seats in the front and rear of me. I acknowledged their greetings, lit a smoke and waited for the bus to move off.
