THEY DIED SOBER

Alcoholics Anonymous has no holidays. Our nation has its Day of Independence and its Memorial Day, but our movement has stayed clear of any definite days of celebration. The nearest we come to it would be to compare the American Day of Independence to the day when we made a decision that we were alcoholics and would no longer drink, as we turned our will and our lives over to a Higher Power. Our tradition dealing with principles and personalities has made us shy of such worship of persons, even the founder. Most of us don't know Bill's natal or AA birthday, in fact.
