From the Grass Roots

I went to my first AA meeting the 28th day of November 1951, right after coming off a sixty-day drunk, and since then I have not had a drink. It was really tough for about thirty days, then the tension started to leave me. I work all of the steps to the best of my ability, and I stay sober and live only twenty-four hours at a time. I read the Big Book and all the AA literature I can get hold of, including The Grapevine which I think is a necessity to every alcoholic who sincerely wants to stay sober.
