WE AAs have friends who are not AAs and have no need to worry about their drinking, others who of course--but that is not the story. At any rate we all go places, have drinks offered us, even pressed upon us. After I had passed my first stages in my AA career and when I felt it incumbent upon me to reform the world (to be a tiresome bore, that is) I often found the question of what to do about refusing that drink something of a poser.
