A Question of Values

I remember the time my father sent me to town to buy provisions for the winter. It happened that we lived in the country and after the first big snowstorm, we couldn't get to town for weeks. He gave me two hundred dollars and told me to get what we needed. I came home that night with ninety-nine pints of whiskey and a loaf of bread. My father knocked the life out of me. He couldn't understand why I bought all that bread!
