In the days of our own impious youth back in Indiana, October was the traditional moving month. The scramble of packing, the horse-drawn van, and the chores of unpacking were the brown October ailments of respectable "renting families". . . And we remember one odd citizen of our town whose rather frantic annual movings were explained by our elders as "he's trying to find a house that wasn't built around a bottle."
