From the Grass Roots

In celebrating our "birthdays" at a closed meeting not long ago one of our group told of coming to the center with his bag packed with pajamas and accessories to last his need for two weeks. He felt that it would be essential to regaining sobriety to be confined in some manner. . .treated with something. . .or in some physical operation divest himself of this trouble. After talking with those helping friends in the clubroom, he found by diligent effort, by keeping associated with our understanding kind, a peace of mind. . .a love for his fellowman and a sincere desire to help others. . . This was his incarceration. From this grew a gratitude for his family's well-being. . .a happiness within his heart for his own good feelings. . . This is our way. . . "How it works in AA."
