From Our Mail

Of course, it is another Mutual Security just as important to us alcoholics, as the one run by our State Department is to peoples of the world who are backward in ways other than alcoholism. Then if I try discussing it with my fellow-Americans, they usually look on me as just another guy who has suddenly "Got religion." All of this in spite of the fact that I see actual, or potential, alcoholism all about me. Nevertheless, I go right on proselytizing the AA program as the answer to that or any other problem. Then, there is always the guy who says "Let AA get me a good job, then I'll show them psalm-singers that I can stay sober if I want to." That is the last word in wishful thinking, and I ought to know--I tried it.
