Do alcoholics have a "wet subconscious"?

IN the article "Ninety Days Will Do It" in the July Grapevine, this statement is made: "As a mental factor, it should by now be limited to the subconscious where day by day new walls of defense are built around it, to prevent it from taking over any conscious act." Also this statement: "Until alcohol as a means of escape. . .leaps from the subconscious to the conscious and the resulting. . .thirst is a natural reaction." I heartily agree with this phraseology.
