Something to Speak softly of <lb<emphasis type="italic">As non-alcoholic mates and families see the AA program. . .</emphasis>

I AM not an alcoholic, but I am married to one. I feel just as close to the AA program, I believe, as if it were written especially for me, as if it were a blueprint of my way of life. My husband and I have become truly one flesh. We seem to be attuned to each other, and to be happy in the same things. We are working together, and our differences of opinion are like the fingers on a hand, a hand which can hold something tightly or can stretch out touching different things, yet still being held together with a common purpose. We have a new life now, a joyous one. We are happy in his sobriety. (For seven years we were wretched by his drinking. Four of those seven years were hit-and-miss in AA. Then came that wonderful spark, and I knew that THIS WAS IT.)
