High Bottom" Alcoholics

WHEN Alcoholics Anonymous first attracted national attention, I understand, a large percentage of those helped by AA were bottle-scarred veterans of "Skid Road." But in more recent years there have come into AA an increasing number of younger men and women, and an increasing number of older alcoholics who were still managing to hold jobs, avoid jails and wear clean shirts. This has caused some observers to remark on AA's new group of "high bottom alcoholics."
