Damn the Torpedoes. . .

"YOU may be right but it won't work. The world just doesn't operate that way." How many times has that retort caused this alcoholic to take six more gibsons? What an addition to his store of negative knowledge! Each lost round caused his conviction to grow that the mundane community, the successful sector at least, was right and that the Lord and His purpose were outmoded. He knew that the "mundanes" were wrong. Nevertheless how was he to be demonstrative about how he felt and at the same time succeed among those worldly characters? The answer used to be "six more martinis will help forget the quandary."
