The Greatest Show. . . . . .On Earth!

STANDING in mirror-black boots in the center of the tent, Ed the ringmaster strokes his spiked mustache, cracks his whip and begins: "Ladieees. . .and gentlemen, your attention is invited to the center ring in which Ed, the active alcoholic, will perform. Fortunately for us, there are no other performers in this greaaat. . .show. Let us give Ed a rousing applause!" The ringmaster bows low as the crowds whistle and cheer. He then lays aside his whip and steps into the center of the ring as the band strikes up a triumphant fanfare and a spotlight of gold illuminates: "Ed, the-greatest-show-on-earth. . ."
