BREAKING THE DEATH GRIP

A few days ago my wife and I were on our way from Coral Gables to Sarasota to visit my parents who are spending a month there. As we drove through the Everglades we saw an Ibis on the bank of the Canal with a snake about two feet long held in its beak. The snake was twisting and writhing and flailing the air trying to break the bird's hold, and while we didn't stop to sec, I know the snake died in the jaws of the Ibis.
