Across the Editor's Desk

IN AA, as everybody knows, things are always just a little different. There are no rules, but anybody who has ever broken the unwritten law of sobriety knows what happens. Our officers don't govern, our directors don't direct, no dues are ever collected, yet the society pays its own way; and in general, as the traveller said of the giraffe, there ain't no such animal. . .you can't have an unorganized organization. But here we are, 150,000 of us, more or less, alcoholics who never touch alcohol.
